Privacy Notice for California and Texas Customers
This privacy notice ("Notice") applies to US consumers and in particular, California consumers as defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA") of 2018 and Texas consumers as defined in the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (“TDPSA”) of 2023 (“Customers”). It provides information about how the Royal Canadian Mint (the "Mint") collects, uses and discloses personal information (as defined under the CCPA) or personal data (as defined under the TDPSA) about Customers when they interact with us. Personal information we collect and how we use and disclose it
In the last 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information about Customers. The data collection practices described in the following table, which includes the sources of such personal information, the purposes for which we have collected it, and the categories of third parties to whom we may have disclosed this information, are ongoing.

Information we collect from a third-party service provider to detect and prevent fraudulent transactions on mint.ca: information about credit card users supplied by the third-party provider’s network of participating merchants, including such things as device data, IP address, email address, payment information, physical shipping address and billing address. |

Certain categories of personal information mentioned above are considered to be sensitive personal information, namely: credit card numbers, Social Security number, user ID and password.
We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes other than to perform our services and provide the goods reasonably expected by an average consumer who requests those goods or services or for other purposes specified, in case of California consumers, in section 7027, subsection (m) of the California Consumer Privacy Act Regulations (for example, for security and safety purposes) and, in case of Texas consumers, in section 541.202, subsection (a) of the TDPSA.
We do not sell or share personal information of California consumers as these terms are defined under the CCPA.
We do not sell or share personal data of Texas consumers as these terms are defined under the TDPSA.
Rights of California Consumers
California consumers may submit a verifiable request that we disclose the following information:
- The categories and specific pieces of personal information that we have collected about you, as well as the sources from which personal information is collected, the business and commercial purposes for collecting it; and
- The categories of personal information about you that we have disclosed for a business purpose and the categories of persons to whom it was disclosed.
You may submit a verifiable request to correct inaccurate information that we maintain about you.
You may submit a verifiable request that we delete any personal information that we have collected about you, subject to the exceptions provided by the CCPA.
We will not, because you have exercised any of the rights detailed in this Notice, deny you any goods or services, charge different prices or rates for goods or services, or provide you with a different level or quality of goods or services.
Texas Privacy Rights

- Correcting inaccuracies in your personal data;
- Deleting your personal data;
- If the data is available in a digital format, obtaining a copy of your personal data previously provided to us in a portable and, to the extent technically feasible, readily usable format that allows you to transmit the data to another controller without hindrance;
- Opting out of the processing of your personal data for the purposes of: targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, or profiling in furtherance of a decision that produces a legal or similarly significant effect concerning you.
We will not, because you have exercised any of the rights detailed in this Notice, deny you any goods or services, charge different prices or rates for goods or services, or provide you with a different level or quality of goods or services.

We will only be able to process your request if we can verify your identity. We will inform you of the information required to identify you on a case-by-case basis. For instance, whenever feasible, we may ask you to provide identifying information that we can match with the personal information we maintain about you.
In order to make a request on your behalf, an authorized agent must provide the Mint with your written and signed permission to make such request.
