The Mint is hiring a Director of Enterprise Applications & Solutions Architecture who can thrive in a dynamic and inclusive environment.
Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Director is responsible for providing technology leadership and the direction necessary for the efficient and effective delivery of automated business system solutions in support of the Royal Canadian Mint’s (RCM) corporate objectives. The incumbent is responsible for leading a team of approximately 20 people.
Your Responsibilities:
- Lead the Enterprise Application & Solution Architecture technology planning, solution design, development, implementation and enablement initiatives through collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of the RCM’s strategic technology priorities.
- Lead the strategy for long term application portfolio management and priority projects to ensure the reliability, availability and performance of all enterprise applications.
- Act as an information technology (IT) innovation leader to investigate opportunities to implement emerging technologies to address technical challenges and establish future strategic requirements. This includes Microsoft Azure Cloud Development and SaaS Applications, robotics and artificial intelligence (AI).
- Lead the talent strategy for the team and foster team growth by coaching, mentoring, encouraging employees, effective performance feedback, career planning and providing development opportunities.
- Help establish a culture and work environment that promotes excellence, teamwork, inclusivity and psychological safety resulting in a positive employee experience.
- Develop productive relationships with business leaders to understand challenges and influence best practices in business process optimization, reporting and master data management.
- Lead the technical resolution of challenges with RCM Infrastructure, RCM Cyber, Thinkmax Infrastructure and Thinkmax Technical Architects on D365 enabling technology including Power Platform, Mobile Applications, cloud networking, Azure Resources for D365, and D365 Development environments.
- Provide technical feedback on D365 program designs, third party integrations, data migration, service updates, project execution, solution deployment, D365 application solutions, D365 custom developments and procedures.
This opening is to be filled on a hybrid working arrangement, and the incumbent will be required to work from the Ottawa location generally on an average of 4 days a week which could change based on operational requirements.
Qualifications:
Languages Requirements:
- An advanced level of bilingual proficiency in both official languages (English / French) is required at the time of hire.
Education & Designation:
- University Degree or College Degree in a related area or an acceptable combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered.
Experience:
- Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant and progressive management experience.
- Minimum of ten (10) years experience working in Enterprise Application & Solution Architecture planning, solution design, development, implementation and enablement.
- Experience in strategic and operational planning and leading the execution of IT initiatives.
- Experience working on projects utilizing Microsoft CRM, and Microsoft Business Intelligence technologies.
- Experience in IT process design, system development and project management with preference for certifications such as BA or ITIL.
Additional Qualifications:
- In depth knowledge of project budgeting, procurement, change management, and analytics.
- Strong technical skills in cloud service solutions, Microsoft Dynamics M365/D365, C#/.NET, Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft BizTalk, Microsoft SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Word.
- Strong presentation skills and experience presenting to senior executives in both official languages (English and French).
- The ability to build strong, collaborative working relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Ability to lead and champion change with a variety of stakeholders across the organization.
