The Royal Canadian Mint’s Winnipeg location is a world leader in circulation coin design and innovation. Established in 1976 as a high‑tech, high‑volume manufacturing facility, every single Canadian circulation coin is produced here, as well as circulation coins for countries around the world.
Tours
Our 45-minute tours are fun, educational and perfect for all ages. Every tour is personally led by one of our knowledgeable guides who will walk you through the production process, offer insights on our major milestones and entertain you with unique stories about the Mint.
Due to our fluctuating production schedules, not all tours are guaranteed to view live coin production during your visit.

Admission on our tours is free for Indigenous Peoples and Canadian military (active and retired).

Service animals are welcome. Each animal must be clearly identified by visual indicators such as a vest or harness. Other animals are not permitted in the building.
Boutique
Our boutique offers a wide range of beautiful coins, and commemorative circulation sets. We also offer Mint branded items and Canadian themed souvenirs that are perfect keepsakes to remember your visit.
You can purchase Royal Canadian Mint bullion products from our Ottawa and Winnipeg locations (with the understanding that bullion products are always subject to availability).
In order for the Royal Canadian Mint to comply with its obligations including those under the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) Terrorist Financing Act, if you are planning on purchasing Royal Canadian Mint bullion product(s) through one of our boutiques, you may be required to provide official Government issued identification and/or any other information deemed appropriate by the Royal Canadian Mint before completing your purchase. Examples of situations when this would occur include for cash purchases and larger value transactions.

The Royal Canadian Mint’s Winnipeg facility rests on Treaty 1 territory and the land of the traditional territory of Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene Peoples, and the homeland of the Métis Nation.

Parking is plentiful and free in the Mint parking lot.
Accessibility
Ramp and elevator access available to the boutique and tour walk. We have two wheelchairs available for guests to use.

Conveniently located just off the Trans-Canada highway, 750 metres from the Fermor and Lagimodière crossroads. Within 10 km from our facilities, you will find the Forks National Historic Site, the Manitoba Museum, the French Quarter, the Manitoba Legislature, Club Regent Casino and Fort Gibraltar.
