The Mint is hiring a Manager, New Product Introduction (NPI) and Commercial Support who can thrive in a dynamic and inclusive environment.
Reporting to the Director, Commercial Operations, the Manager is responsible for the execution of all Mint’s products through the NPI process using agile product development methodologies that will ensure successful product delivery timelines and launches. With exceptional leadership and change management expertise, the Manager plays a key role in continuous improvement, identifying and anticipating future changes and plays a key role in making timely data driven decisions to improve business profitability, product performance and customer experience and people objectives. In addition to this, the Manager is also responsible for the management and coordination of product marketing information, sales collateral, price lists and ministerial packages. The incumbent is responsible for leading a team of 6 people.
Your Responsibilities:
- Primary Lead responsible for the overall execution of all Mint’s products through the NPI process and the daily management of the product portfolio plan across all business lines (i.e. Numismatics, Medals, Bullion, Foreign)
- Manage NPI improvement and change management activities from ideation to manufacturing by leading and influencing key senior management stakeholders within the product development process, including Product Management, Product Engineering, Engraving, Supply Chain, Production Planning etc. to ensure new products are properly introduced for production while taking into account speed-to-market, on-time-deliveries and improvements to productivity
- Coach and mentor the product development teams on Agile project management principles and processes, tools, methodology and best practices
- Acts as unbiased stakeholder and mediates/leads/facilitates the key functional senior management stakeholders to resolve ongoing/new conflicts, driving process improvements and skill development
- Recommend and implement enhancements to NPI to improve information flow and overall effectiveness and accountability of the process
- Prepare high quality presentations with insightful, comprehensive and concise insights to different levels of the organization. Ability to translate complex data into simplified yet meaningful insights
- Develops analysis, reporting and system capability solutions to ensure tools (Smarteam, SharePoint, PowerBI etc.) support the product development process, to maintain product timelines and communicate change management to stakeholders on timely decision making. Also ensures that process methodologies and related systems, are up to date and continuously improved
- Identify potential risk events in the product development process and product launches. Responsible for risk plan development, risk prioritization and mitigation
- Manage the product timeline infrastructure and ensure KPI’s are well established and measured. Provide monitoring, visibility and status updates through reports and meetings of new products along with associated risks throughout the organization
- Maintain post mortem database and model and ensure actionable learning items are documented and integrated into the relevant functional processes and utilized in future new product introduction Provide strategic operational recommendations from these items
- Manage direct reports responsible for product coordination, collateral preparation, ministerial package preparation, integration of international coin program and other product development related tasks
- Oversees prioritization of sales and marketing render requirements.
- Manages and oversees Numismatic Pricelist preparation and publishing
This opening is to be filled on a hybrid working arrangement, and the incumbent will be required to work from the Ottawa location generally on an average of 1-2days a month which could change based on operational requirements.

Qualifications:
Languages Requirements:
- An advanced level of bilingual proficiency in both official languages (English / French) is required at the time of hire. If a bilingual candidate is not identified, other candidate language profiles may be considered in accordance with the Mint’s Staffing Policy
Education & Designation:
- University degree in business, engineering or related areas
Experience:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of related business experience, specifically in data analysis or new product introduction in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive management experience, leading cross functional teams and large scale projects
Additional Qualifications:
- PMI or Agile certification preferred
- Proven track record as a Team Leader with excellent interpersonal and team building skills; Demonstrated ability to foster strong working relationships at all levels of the organization in order to resolve issues in a timely manner
- Proven ability to independently and collaboratively solve problems in ambiguous situations within a dynamic environment with changing needs and priorities, resulting in timely decisions and recommendations
- Ability to handle a heavy workload and with the strong ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal; ability to present analysis, risks and implications in a clear, concise manner to all levels of management
- Self-motivated, energetic, "can-do" attitude in a fast-moving environment
- Ability to manage priorities across multiple stakeholders
- Advanced proficiency with Excel, PowerBI, Sharepoint, PowerPoint, Word and Dynamics AX, including modelling and developing reporting/databases etc. Experience in other PLM systems is also an asset
