The Royal Canadian Mint is hiring a Project Manager who can thrive in a dynamic and inclusive environment.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Program Manager Office, the Project Manager is responsible to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring the necessary resources and coordinating the efforts of team members which can include third-party contractors and consultants to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will also define the project's objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.
Your Responsibilities:
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the Mint's strategic business plans and identify ways to add value in achieving corporate goals and objectives.
- Manage projects and deliver them within budget, scope and schedule.
- Use best practices and industry standards to improve project delivery.
- Collaborate with other leaders on the agreed-upon process that develops plans and prioritization by Mint leadership.
- Act as key liaison between the project team and other Business Teams to communicate priorities and provide regular reporting.
- Engage senior leadership and business partners to organize and communicate key deliverables.
- Provide ongoing assistance and support to Project Managers, Business Analysts, Change Advisors and other project team members.
- Build and maintain relationships with senior leadership and key corporate PMO stakeholders, and act as a trusted advisor.
- Build and maintain relationships with subject matter experts in all fields of Information Technology and communicate the needs and best practice advice of the subject matter experts in business language.
- Regularly review and evaluate opportunities to improve PMO best practices to achieve higher maturity in project management.
This opening is to be filled on a hybrid working arrangement, and the incumbent will be required to work from the Ottawa location generally on an average of 1-2 days a week which could change based on operational requirements.

Qualifications:
Language Requirements
- An intermediate level of bilingual proficiency in both official languages (English / French) is required at the time of hire. If a bilingual candidate is not identified, other language profiles may be considered in accordance with the Mint’s Staffing Policy.
Education
- University Degree or College Degree in a related area or an acceptable combination of education and relevant work experience.
- Successful completion of a PMP certification.
Experience
- Minimum of 7 years of project management experience working on large transformation projects centred around implementing Microsoft cloud technologies including OneDrive, SharePoint Online and Exchange Online.
- Significant experience using different project management methodologies such as waterfall and agile.
Additional Qualifications:
- In depth knowledge of project budgeting, procurement, organizational change management, and analytics.
- Strong technical skills in MS Project, Azure DevOps, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Word
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Strong presentation skills and experience presenting to senior executives and large audiences.
- The ability to build strong, collaborative working relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Ability to lead and champion change with a variety of stakeholders across the organization.
